LIVE ALBUM RECORDING

Unity Works
5pm - 6:30pm

The highlight of 2013's Fringe returns. Greenmount Studios will record a live album, this time by Wakefield band Piskie Sits, to 2 inch tape whilst the audience wears wireless headsets, hearing the actual mix perfected live. And if you want, you can then buy a copy of the very record, right there and then.

UNITY RESTORATION EXHIBITION

Long Division will be the first major event to take place in Unity Works, a building with an immense history. Local photographer John Jowett has documented daily the restoration, which began in October 2013, and will display his choice shots here.

A week prior to The Orangery's third Wakefield Lit Fest, Long Division has teamed up to bring music / literature crossovers to the Fringe. Hear, see and meet journalist and musician John Robb at 1pm (Louder Than War / The Membranes) and Saturday performers Candy Says at 2:15pm.

A Song In A Day

Join Graphic Designer and committed Video Gamer Matthew Kenyon to celebrate the launch of "Everyday is Play," a self-published book featuring some of the greatest games designers, graphic artists, programmers and digital creatives from across the globe. From 12 til 2.45 there will be Q&A Sessions with Matthew Kenyon and some of the other creatives who contributed to "Everyday is Play" + book signings.

DRURY LANE LIBRARY TOURS

The Art House are converting the Grade II Listed Drury Lane Library into 34 new artsists' studios and public spaces. Don't miss this rare opportunity to get behind the scenes and see what's happening behind the hoarding and the scaffolding. Tours at 1pm, 1.45pm, 2.30pm and 3.15pm – Spaces are limited so please book your preferred slot with a member of The Art House team when you arrive. Dress code for site tours: sturdy shoes (no high heels or open toes); trousers must be worn (no shorts or skirts); hard hat and hi vis vest (which will be provided).
