The Harriets are Daniel-Parker Smith and Ben Schrodel, Leeds based songwriters. Performing as a band or an acoustic duo, the songs feature the bright and distinctive vocal harmonies of the two front men, and the interplay of melodic bass with jangly retro-inspired guitar work. With plenty of feel-good, catchy songs, the sound combines the classic retro with the relevant and contemporary, sure to make you want to dance and sing along. Think Big Star, The Smiths, Belle and Sebastian and The Beach Boys.
The band has played many live shows including the International Pop Overthrow Festival in Liverpool’s Cavern Club and Bingley Music Live Festival in September 2017, alongside acts such as Anteros, Marsicans and The Orielles. As well as honing their live show gigging, the pair work on regularly releasing self-produced singles, allowing them to give an airing to the more diverse material in their songbook. The latest of these, Harriet Who? recently received airplay on BBC Introducing.
