Seanna Doonan

  • Venue: Radcliffe Place (next to Iris)
  • Days: Wednesday – Sunday (whole festival)
  • Time: Daylight Hours

Based in Wakefield, Seanna specialises in mural art and illustration and her
passion lies in the creation of historical and socio-political pieces. Seanna hopes her work reflects the lives, struggles and relationships of ordinary people, providing a platform for social comment. Touching on her own background and memories of Wakefield, Seanna has a desire to articulate the past, and present of the city along with all its changes. Through a series of illustrations Seanna will produce a mural showing familiar scenes and landmarks from across the city centre as well as the characters who live within the “merrie city”

This commission was funded by Long Division with support from Arts Council England as part of our Onto The Streets project, which is directly supporting the creation of new work from predominantly Wakefield based or born artists. The aim is to create accessible experiences that encourage audiences to look at our city in a new way, and animate our streets.
