“We at Long Division Festival, like everyone, are currently working out the best way to deal with COVID-19 as it continues to spread.
Alongside our friends at the Wakefield Cultural Consortium and The Hepworth Wakefield, we have decided the best course of action is to postpone Friday’s ‘Long Division In Conversation’ event with John Robb and Charlotte Gunn – all tickets will be refunded immediately and a new date will be organised as soon as possible. We hope to be welcoming Charlotte, John and Emily to Wakey later in the year!
In terms of our other work and initiatives, including #YoungTeam, we will be having conversations with the relevant partners this week and working out the best and safest way to proceed.
The biggest question obviously hangs over the festival in June. Yesterday the government suggested against mass gatherings, however offered little detail and no time scale as to when this will apply. As it stands, we will press on as normal in preparing to bring you the best Long Division Festival we can. However, we want to be very clear that in the event of Long Division’s cancellation or postponement all ticket sales will be available for refund.
We will continue to monitor the situation and follow the guidance of Public Health England and the Government. Ultimately, the most important thing to us is the good health and safety of our audience; it will be that that guides our hand in this situation.
It’s going to be a tough time for your local DIY music festival and a lot of our friends but we’re determined to get through. We’ll be as open and communicative as we can over the next few months.
Be safe, wash your hands, buy records, keep in touch.
