The Guardian (“Wakefield fights austerity with Art”)

Long Division Festival is an award winning metropolitan festival that places the best emerging grassroots artists alongside legends of Indie and DIY. Previous headliners include The Cribs, We Are Scientists, Billy Bragg, British Sea Power, The Fall, Asian Dub Foundation, Field Music, The Wedding Present, Peter Hook & The Light, Ash, and Gang Of Four.

The landmark 10th Long Division Festival was due to take place from June 4th to 7th in Wakefield City Centre but due to the Covid-19 virus it will now take place on November 12th-15th. We have so far managed to confirm 80% of the same lineup including the top 9 of the top 10 performers. For full details on artists confirmed, see our news story here.

Long Division Festival is about more than gigs in venues. We celebrate community and are dedicated to supporting the vibrant grassroots in Wakefield and beyond. We will continue to do this as the Covid-19 situation develops.

Long Division is supported by Arts Council England, Wakefield Council, Wakefield BID, Backstage Academy, Magic Rock Brewery, Yorkshire Music Forum, Leeds College of Music, Wakefield College and Unison.
