On March 20th, in partnership with Wakefield Cultural Consortium we will be hosting a very special event at The Hepworth Gallery. Special guests Charlotte Gunn and John Robb will be interviewed by BBC Introducing West Yorkshire’s Emily Pilbeam. Charlotte and John have a wealth of experience and insight into the music industry, with more than their fair share of stories to share.

Charlotte Gunn – Music Journalist / Former NME Editor:
Esteemed music journalist and former editor of the NME, Charlotte Gunn steered the legendary publication through one of the most tempestuous times in its history, shepherding it through its move to an exclusively digital platform and in the process restoring the brand’s identity, reviving the NME awards and leading it to back to its historical place as one of the most trusted and widely read home of music writing, news and opinion in the world. Charlotte will be discussing her career, life at NME, journalism and more.
John Robb – Journalist / Author / The Membranes
John Robb was forged by glam but culturally formed by punk and post punk but in his own unique style. He formed the acclaimed and influential UK post punk band the Membranes who reformed recently and whose Dark Matter/Dark Energy has been a successful reaffirmation of the band and their best selling album ever and made the band a staple on the European festival circuit. He is the editor of one of the UK’s biggest music culture website, Louder Than War which is also now a magazine and has written several best selling music books including a biog of the Stone Roses and an oral history of punk. He is also a radio and TV regular and has recently been filming a series of interviews for Lush with people like Stewart Lee, Shaun Ryder and Caroline Lucas.
